Hometree’s purpose is land regeneration, how does this align with your company/organisation?
Environmental sustainability is at the heart of what we do as a company. Our long term goal is to become a carbon-negative operation, and tree planting is one of the most effective ways to offset our emissions.

What is inspiring you to work with a regeneration process like Hometree?
We think it's important to think globally and act locally. We hope our children and generations will enjoy the trees we plant today to come.

Some of the trees you are planting you will not see mature, together we are working towards more abundant and biodiverse future, in three or four sentences please describe what you would like to invite into the future?
In our lifetime, we hope global warming is kept below 1,5'C. At 1,5'C, our ecosystems remain intact, and we are well on our way towards a zero-carbon society.

List two ways you support this invitation at present?
We are proud members of 1% for the planet, where 1% of our annual sales are donated to Irish environmental non-profits. We offset the shipping emissions of every bag, bucket and box that leaves the roastery through Hometree.

Do you have a memory that to share about a tree/forests/nature?
Dan's holidays were spent on the beautiful Cornish coast, and he later went on to study conservation and biology at university. Being close to nature has always been an essential part of our lives, and it's our responsibility to conserve it for generations to come.

Other than Hometree can you celebrate other ways you or your organisation supports a healthier environment?
In conjunction with Clean Coasts Ireland, we organise beach cleans around Galway throughout the year. In 2020 we became one of the first coffee companies to achieve fully compostable packaging. Our retail bags are now made from plant-based materials and can be disposed of in your compost bin.

Have there been any key moments that you can share about how you or your organisation decided to support a more abundant and healthier world?
Let my people go surfing - Yvon Chouinard. This book was a massive inspiration for us and changed how we think about running a business!
